The "2010 Annual Survey Report on Chinese Industry-based E-commerce Websites" was released by the China E-commerce Research Center headquartered in Hangzhou on April 18.

The report shows that China's business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce turnover reached 3.8 trillion yuan in 2010, and the "main customers" were more than 43 million domestic medium and small enterprises.

The survey shows that there were more than 43 million medium and small enterprises in China using e-commerce mainly through industry-based e-commerce websites. The transaction value through e-commerce conducted by medium and small enterprises is expected to reach 4.8 trillion yuan in 2011.

Furthermore, the transaction value through e-commerce conducted by medium and small enterprises has been increasing from 2007 to 2009, standing at 2.2 trillion yuan, 2.8 trillion yuan and nearly 3.3 trillion yuan, respectively. Therefore, experts predict that China's e-commerce turnover will reach 4.8 trillion yuan and 6 trillion yuan in 2011 and 2012, respectively.
